Description

The purpose of the Afghanistan HEP Project is to strengthen the institutional capacity of Afghan universities to produce qualified secondary school teachers and education leaders.  At the end of this five year project, the faculty at 17 universities throughout Afghanistan will be able to use a variety of proven instructional methods, using improved materials, and current content knowledge, with support from staffed teacher resource centers.   Each university will develop a sustainable professional environment with competent leadership, effective structures and practices, enhanced cooperation with MOHE and MOE, and capacity for curriculum assessment and reform.

The Project will provide resources, expertise, training and technical support to help Afghan universities develop and implement institutional development plans to enhance their ability to prepare secondary school teachers.
