Guatemala has the lowest percentage of GNP per capita investment in education in Central America.  The purpose of the EQUIP 2 Guatemala project is to improve education in Guatemala by increasing public awareness, conducting training, and assisting with the creation of education policy.  The project seeks to raise awareness of the importance of education within the private sector, Congress, and Social Cabinet through training and leadership development.  The project also assists in the policy arena by ensuring that all interested parties have the opportunity to contribute to the formulation of the country’s new Education Reform Law.
